Origin Story

It started in May 1990, when I was born and subsequently named Sacha. My parents split when I was a baby, meaning I spent a lot of time on the road and with my grandparents. This is by no means a tragedy, quite the opposite. It has given me much more time with my grandparents, and deeper relations to my family members, not to mention a bigger family. I've gained two new parents and four siblings, so I am deeply grateful.
At around 8 years of age the first sibling jealousy appeared, since my little brother was born and he was gifted a middle name... How come I didn't have a middle name? I asked. Spoiled as I was, I got to pick one. The choice was easy, I took the first and only suggestion, coming from my grandfather. That name was June. It belonged to my Grandmother, and I was proud to take it as my own. However, I wouldn't come to realize how big of a gift that name was until years later when I started to go by Sacha June a.k.a. Mama June a.k.a Mama J. It has given me an empowered persona that I've come to cherish and live - much like Beyoncé's Sasha Fierce.
My first decade in life was spent in Denmark. After that I moved with my mum, step dad, and my brothers, through Europe. I'm what people would refer to as an army brat or TCK (third culture kid). Spent some time in Belgium going through an American school system on a military base. I spent most of my teens in the UK at an international school, after about 2 years at boarding school in Denmark. At 18 I moved to The Netherlands with my family after graduating high school. I worked as an Au Pair for a while, before going to University and jumping between study programs. Finally in 2016 I graduated University in The Netherlands with a B.A. in International Communication.
Now what? Well! Throughout my university time in Groningen, I was luckier than some, and I got to form some very deep and lasting friendships. Friendships that I hold very dear and near to this day. Turns out most of these people are Germans, and were did they all go when they finished studying? BERLIN! It was only right that I followed after I finished my own studies. I wrote my thesis for a company in Berlin, and once I handed that in and got my cap, I got a job in customer service so that I could stay with my crew. Crew love is true love.
Living it up in Berlin. Developing, working, loving and pondering what to do and where to go with my life. After a pandemic, 3 lock downs, a lot of life contemplation and prosseco, it came to me. I resaddled and turned my sights on something new. I left my beloved Berlin behind and started a bunch of new adventures in Copenhagen!
